The 2014 Ag Innovation Showcase organized by the Larta Institute took place on September 9th and 10th and drew another big crowd this year.

The event kicked off with an evening cocktail reception at the Cortex facility hosted by Platinum Sponsor Husch Blackwell LLP.  The reception took place just outside Husch Blackwell’s Cortex office and filled the entire lobby space.  More than 360 Ag industry professionals attended the reception and it, once again, provided a robust opportunity for agriculturally focused networking.

The showcase itself took place at the Donald Danforth Plant Science Center and drew approximately 410 attendees.  Most of the sessions drew a standing room only crowd.  The kickoff speaker was Harry Stine of Stine Seed and the event continued to literally “showcase” several agricultural startups looking for investment partners.  The presenters ranged from precision agriculture and the use of data to manage farm efficiencies to new biologics to drive performance and yield in addition to unique equipment offerings.  More information regarding the presenters can be found here.  Several of the presentations addressed the use of UAVs as a tool in precision farming, an area of focus for Husch Blackwell’s UAV team.

The dates for the 2015 showcase have already been announced as September 14-16, 2015.  The event truly is a unique opportunity to network with Ag industry professionals and learn about the leading edge of future developments focused on sustainable agriculture for demands of the future.
